Social Thug is owned and operated by husband and wife duo Jacob and Victoria McGarry.
Hey all! This is Victoria.
If you’re curious about who we are, and why we’re doing Social Thug, read on.
We believe it is so important that the content we send out to Facebook and Instagram (+TikTok, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, the web at large...) is helpful to whoever sees it—not just additional noise—in our busy digital world. I think the world could be a better place through your business’s digital presence!
We started Social Thug because we saw a connection between our skills and a need in our community. There are so many small businesses in Jackson and the surrounding area that we love. When we talk to the owners of those businesses, they often express a desire to offload their online work. Even the savviest business owner finds it difficult to invest enough time in keeping up with digital trends!
Jacob is an independent videographer, social media manager, writer, and a techy jack-of-all trades. He loves finding new trends. He has a strong belief in the value of learning many disciplines and wants to be an expert in content marketing and digital design… but he also loves picking up new skills and seeing how they relate! Welding. Cooking. Ballet. Dancing. Lifting. DJ’ing. Jacob isn’t a pro at any of these, but the more skills he learns, the more he sees useful connections between them.
My hubby, Jacob, has the creative side of our business fully powered up. On the other hand, I am steady, observant, and engaged. These are very helpful attributes to have as a business owner, especially when your partner has a hyper right brain personality! But I do love creating, too. I am an enthusiastic multi-media artist and find a ton of satisfaction in graphic designing as well as short and long form writing for our clients.
We live and work in Jackson, and it is an amazing place to be right now. The revitalization of our downtown and all that new life in a place with a long history of industry just reminds Jacob and I how much we like getting our hands dirty.
SO. Where do you need help? We are ready to roll up our sleeves!
